NordGen Forest ConferencesNordGen Forest hosts an annual conference. Before 2008 the conferences were held by our predecessor NSFP, Nordisk skogbruks frø- og planteråd. Through presentations, discussions and excursions the conference helps to increase the general level of competence in the field of forest regeneration. Below you will find information from some previous conferences. Hämeenlinna, Finland, 2012"Options for Forest Regeneration - Spruce, Pine and Broadleaved Trees" 5-6 September 2012 addressed topics concerning direct seeding of pine, storm damages and regeneration, spruce breeding, and potentials and problems connected to regeneration of broadleaved species. Download the program here . Presentations:
Odense, Denmark, 2011"Sustainable biomass production" was the subject for the conference in Odense. Biomass resources in Denmark and the Nordic countries, conversion technologies, markets and economy, cultivation systems, suitable species and clones, and sustainability issues were among the topics discussed. Download the programme here . Presentations in pdf format:
Uppsala, Sweden, 2010"Alien tree species - possibility or threat?" took place in Uppsala 6-7 October. Swedish as well as Nordic experiences with foreign tree species, including introduction of pests, forest production and forest damages were among the topics discussed. So were excisting regulations and the forest owner's attitudes towards alien species. The programme can be downloaded here . Presentations in pdf-format (mostly in Swedish):

Selfoss, Iceland, 200819.-20. August 2008 the NordGen Conference was held in Selfoss, Iceland, in cooperation with Iceland Forest Service. The topic was "Nordic forests in a changing climate - regeneration and CO2 sequestration". The conference was held back-to back with the yearly meeting of the Nordic Forest Ministers. The Ministers agreed on a declaration, stating among other things that they "stress the importance of forest tree breeding, including adaption to a changing climate".
