Regeneration quality

In cooperation with Metla and Evira, NordGen Forest organized a thematic day in  Hiihtomuseo (the Ski museum) in Lahti, Finland in early October.

Regeneration quality was the heading for the event, which attracted more than 50 people from several forestry organizations.

Participants received the latest news concerning regeneration success from the National Forest Inventory in Finland, and several speakers addressed silvicultural issues related  to regeneration. The effect of moose on the quality of regeneration and on choice of tree species, stump lifting and its effects on regeneration, and  possibilities to enhance the result of direct seeding of pine was presented and discussed.
