Four scholarships in 2010NordGen Forest grants a sum each year to encourage education and knowledge exchange for persons working or studying within forest seed or plant production, regeneration methods and tree breeding in the Nordic countries.
This year eight applications were received within the deadline 15 March, and the NordGen Forest Council decided that the 30 000 NOK should be divided between four of these. The recipients are Rakel Jónsdóttir (Iceland), who will do nutrient analyses to find out more about fertilization of lutz spruce seedlings, Heli Viiri (Finland) who is cooperating with Swedish researchers in a pine weevil project, Andreas Helmersson (Sweden) for a study trip to North Carolina concerning tree breeding and pine seedling production, and Skogplanter Midt-Norge for knowledge excange with a Swedish nursery.
